Interesting their putting the battlecry line on sale. I think I remember hearing something about them not selling well enough so they were going to be discontinued. They're kinda overpriced when you look at them for what they are. They're literally previous Windlass models pre sharpened with with a coat of black. That or they're the same blades from discontinued models with hilt variation and a coat of black. I actually found it odd that Windlass went up in price with their blackened line when other manufacturers went down in price for theirs. Seems Windlass has been getting pretty proud with their pricing lately anyway raising most of the new line over $300 and keeping their last chance and re-issued models over $200. Remember the days when the DoD, Limited Special or Last Chance deals could get you anywhere from 30%-75% off? I do.

this particular battle cry falchion has been on sale on koa for $235 for as long as i can remember, and all the other battlecry lines have been on sale as well, they have even been on sale on the mrl website for god knows how long, i dont like how they are trying to discount it from the original overpriced price of $325 instead of the price its been at forever.

9/24 Sword of Tancred $ 135.00 www.museumreplicas.com/p-2204-sword-of-tancred.aspxDon't forget the promo code SBGWEB for that additional 10% off I have this one. Big one-hander. The pommel is threaded and epoxied. Mine is quite solid. The scabbard is worthless tho.

Now you've sparked my curiosity, lol. What did they use for female hygiene products in the middle ages? OK found it. onthetudortrail.com/Blog/2015/02/10/the-lady-in-red-medieval-menstruation/Pretty interesting actually, they literally made their own from cotton similar to modern aplicators. Also red was a popular color to mask accidents. Puts a whole new perspective on why so many women of the middle ages are seen wearing red in painting and such. Also puts some inside perspective on the gown worn with the period apron....

By coincidence I came across this on Youtube yesterday... particularly relevant after 2 minutes:

From what I've heard/seen the imperat is one of Windlass' best rapiers to date. Stiffer than most of their stuff and looks and handles well.
Here's a review done by Medieval Review on youtube:

I have one and it is pretty well made. Mine makes a clanking sound where the blade meets the hilt when in movement.
