Not a review of the saber. This is an update of the status of an order placed with Worldwide swords some 3 months ago.
WWS and History Relics popped up on the radar simultaeneously. Last fall. WWS operates out of Gettysburg PA, has strong Civil War reenactor roots and a serious sword interest. They are attempting to fill a void in the US as Stromlo departed.
History Relics is an eastern based vendor who has popped in to the forum of late. His prices are scarily good, and uses DHL international, who from my experience are also blazingly reliable.
HR scored a fast coup over WWS getting CW his Brit M1897 super fast. The order catalog used by HR is dated and thin in selections. Whether this represents ready stocked items or not is unknown.
WWS's Tim Test left me with a somewhat vague impression regarding what stock he had on hand. Also boasted that his new business model would guarantee faster turn round from WE on orders. I remained sceptical.
Turned out the M1853 was pulled from production by WE for lack of sales. WWS convinced them it had a CSA connection which would sell more in the USA given the chance. I didn't realize all this when I ordered, thus the 3 month wait.
Well the wait is almost over. Just got these WE shop pics:
Hopefully in the next few weeks this will wrap. Bit disappointed on the lag; but based on past experience I was hardly surprised. Tempted to offer HR an order. Wonder about item's in the WE catalog he doesn't show on his own site?
( Gotta go no. UPS is at the front door with a KoA package  "wheeeeeeeeeeee, wheee, wheee, pure adrenalin."
