Has anyone ever had problems with Cold Steel products? The scabbard for my hand and a half has lost its stainless steel... end cap and the ?thingy? at the top due to poor gluing. I work at a cabinet shop so re-gluing is not a problem. How good is CS at honoring their products?
Thank you.

I've had very good experiences with CS customer service. I've also had a very few issues with their products, but nothing common or major. I suggest giving them a call and seeing what they can do for you if you ever have a more pressing concern. -Slayer

Reattach them with epoxy and try to forgive the stingy glue guy on the CS assembly line.
Not to make light of your problem, if it disturbs you that they were not glued properly, by all means contact them about it. You should find that CS is pretty up front about dealing with product warranty issues.

The chape (that's what the 'end cap' on the tip) and throat (the one at the bit where the sharp end goes in) are pretty easy to put back, like Chuck says-- just glue 'em in if you're up to that. That's how they're put there in the first place, anyway... personally I wouldn't bother bugging Cold Steel about something like that. Now if the *sword* itself had issues, that's definitely not something that's as easy to fix, and worth pursuing a warranty solution.

chuck and Jeff have it really. The glue might not even be the direct fault of CS. Highly likely that shipping temps or other factors from them to you caused the glue to fail, or they got a bad batch of glue with no way to tell until post-shippign.

I have had problems with every single Cold Steel product I've ever owned with the exception of their Walkabout XL.
But then again, it is really hard to mess up a solid piece of wood.

I have purchased a number of cold steel products and have not had a single issue with any. I purchased a Hanwei Tinker Viking sword and it had to go back because of several defects.

One of the things that do set Cold Steel apart is that while they only commission their swords from other companies-- as far as I'm aware they don't make anything in-house, only their advertising-- they keep their swords in stock at their own facilities, partly to make sure they're sharp but also to ensure a degree of QC. This is in opposition to Hanwei, where if you buy directly from them you are buying straight from the manufacturer, so QC issues can happen. Solution? Buy from Kult of Athena!
