I just saw it on KoA's 'New Items' list and I haven't heard anything on SBG thus far, but if I'm simply the last to know... well, it won't be the first time! ]

I saw it on Atlanta Cutlery some time ago and thought it looked awesome, but was waiting for it to come to KoA; it finally did the other day, but since I saw that several new VA items had been added, too, I figured people'd want to know about those more. Anyways, for 60$, I don't think it can be beat, in terms of functional 'tactical' swords (aside from other Cobra Steel items, of course).

I don't think there's anything special about it. other than the steel it's made from, there are no other noteworthy features at all. I can't see any geometry but also doubt it's a decent Hira-zukuri, it's more like it's just a flat bar with a poorly ground beveled edge. there is also no identifiable Kissaki and the grip looks pretty uncomfortable to me. and the scabbard is pretty meh. I think they're just calling it a wakizashi because of the general size and shape, probably riding the Hanwei Tac-Wak wave of success

An interesting option for someone who is looking for a modern half-tactical, half-japanese style blade (whatever that means ...). It would probably be a fun backyard beater to try out. It look likes a cheaper, lower-grade version of the Hanwei tactical wak'.

I might just buy one next month. Looks like a neat toy.

I have a Cobra Steel kindjal and it's actually fairly decent. It's a fancy machete when it comes down to it, but its balance isn't too shabby and the grip is rather nice, absorbs the shock of chopping pretty well. I'd expect this to be a decent piece as well; it's not really intended to be a traditional waki, so don't sweat the small stuff too much about it.
