Just wondering if someone can provide some shopping links or something of their personal collection that they would let go. I dont have a lot of specifics. I just realized most of my blades are for functionality and are TH. My girlfriend brought up the idea of making a "Pretty" sword. Something with a great polish and really active prominent hamon. Any links would be great. Shirasaya preferred. I'm not really interested in hauwei. My price range is between 150-250$ give or take. Thank guys!

Sinosword bare blade custom with hybrid polish? Should be <250. Or a kc bare blade. There are no much more options I think.

i think for that price range you could have a custom blade in shirasaya from sinoswords but i'm not sure. maybe you could ask i think it would worth the try.

It's too bad you're not interested in Hua Wei, but I can understand why. However what you're asking for is exactly what they could deliver: ready-made blade, simplest mount, right price range. No special requirements, Jacky could ship you out a very satisfactory blade quick and cheap. I can attest to the fact their hamons are beautiful, I love the two I own. But enough of that. What about this? kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=CIOKATSHBo-hi is well executed... Hope you find what you want.

If you're not interested in Huawei, I do hear that Sinoswords is a good alternative.
Also, I believe Kris Cutlery (?) and Cheness (the one Maynar posted) both have excellent shirasaya blades on KoA. The KC blades are likely to be in short stock, though...

Maynar I happen to be making new mounts for that exact sword. I found a blowout on KOA for 35$ with a slightyl bent blade and a cracked tsuka/saya. The tsuka is a tool for hammering things now, and the saya is undergoing repair. Can't wait to show you all when its finished. Oh yeah and the hamon on cheness TH modlels is my favorite fake hamon ive seen yet. It looks really real. There is no texture to it, its just like a real one thats been enhanced. Gorgeous blade i must say, I'm very happy with my first cheness blade. I cant wait to cut large things with it and see how it hold up. Being 6'1 it feels like a perfect sized sword for me.
I most likely will end up going with hauwei. Anyone know how well the yokote are done? Not the cross polished but the geometric? I really just want it to look at close to a nihonto as possible. I love the geo kissaki with the foggy polish and the milky hamon, a lot like hanwei does. I'm not sure if hauwei does this kind of thing but if they do it would be a selling point for me.
And I'm not at all sure how this thread ended up in this section, I never even look at anyhting other than japanese styled swords. If a moderator could move it to the proper seciton I'd be appreciative.

This is the geometric kissaki on my Hua Wei Unokubi zukuri: You can also get some idea what the hamon is like from these shots. Hope that helps.
