Hi all. I study Chen-style tai chi, and I'm looking for an oxtail dao for form practice. I noticed many of the online retailers selling a particular broadsword, but at best they just say it's from Longquan. It's also listed at this American retailer, which names them as Shen Guanglong swords. I don't understand why so many of the other sites lack basic product information about what they're selling! I can't find a website for Shen Guanglong; does anyone know more about them? The government website for Lishui prefecture, where Longquan is located, promotes them as one of its key workshops. The different retailers all seem to have several different variants of the sword that caught my eye. Most commonly described as "semi-flexible" (1) (2) (3) (4) (5), and also with a rigid blade, rigid & thicker blade, and stainless steel. So, does anyone have experience with these swords, particularly those dragon-scabbard variants? I'm only interested in tai chi practice, not cutting; some of the retailers state these swords aren't sharp. My teacher also prefers more rigid blades, so that one sounds good, but it only seems to be available at that European store. Anyone happen to know a UK stockist?

www.kaiming.co.uk/ This is the website for a gentleman known as Mark Peters, he's a CMC/ZMQ style taijiquan teacher in the UK. If you contact him, he may be able to lead you in the right direction, and if I'm remembering correctly he has more than a passing familiarity with Chen style taijiquan.
