I recently purchased the Gladiator Maximus Spatha. Today I began having trouble placing the sword into the scabbard. When I las withdrew it a plastic piece about 2.5 feet long came out with the sword. It must have been part of a lining within the scabbard. Should I discard it, attempt to replace it...ideas?

Ditch it. Plastic isn't worth it. Now, if your sword suddenly starts rattling... congratulations, you just figured out what that piece's for It's not uncommon for cheap scabbards to have spacers within to help keep the blade from rattling. You can put it back in with a little work but for a Windlass scabbard, I don't really think it's worth it that much. Up to you of course... if I recall correctly you're mostly using it as a display sword, it just has to look pretty right?
