Just to check and ask. I've noticed an influx of topics and questions within other topics dealing with stage/blunt blades and technique, not historical fencing/sword, but fighting none the less.
I'd intended to do some write-ups for stage blade advice, given I have experience there, but I'm wondering if it would be best fitted in the Sword Training area or elsewhere, or if the training area could benefit from a sub-forum for specifically the weapons used to train?
Mostly I just want to know where the topic(s) I've been writing up should go when they're ready to post. Don't want Odingaard's "red line of death" to move my topic ;-)

i would say good advise on how to get a good stage steel sword should be kept here, and good stage steel use advise in the training section. granted that both are going to be good to have, but the new guys would have an easier time finding the threads when split to proper sections. when you get everything up and running, you could get a mod to stickie them.

Makes sense. I have the beginnings of both, but given I usually trained shield and hammer/axe, I'm polling a few old sparring partners and local friends for advice on stage/blunt steel sparring anyway. An axe or hammer required a *lot* more care and control of your strength to not maul your opponent to the ER.
Choregraphed and historical fencing fights are fun, but there's something about an unscripted sparring match that will get your blood pounding!
Thanks for the advice Tre, hope to have these up sometime around or before the holidays, depending on work. I made the mistake of asking the boss for any extra shifts...
