hi I still have not made the travel to pick up my kai gunto but thas beside the point. i recently got in contact with a elder fellow who has been collecting katanas for most his life and tomorrow he is dropping off 2 for me to check out on the phone he said one is a showa blade takahisa? but i cannot find anything with takahisa he said it was a big name maker so im thinking he ment to say takahashi? which would make sense. the other he is unsure of if it is real or not he knows for sure that it is early 1800s and a real japanese sword however it is signed tadayoshi and he does not know if it is a real tadayoshi family blade or another smith using his name to sell the sword..... it is in showa koshirae and was brought back from ww2 now i have no idea where to go to find out if it is a real tadayoshi but he will sell to me for $1500 and i am obviously very interested due to if it was real it would be quite a nice piece of history to own anyway just wanted to chit chat with you all about these 2 smiths because in 15 hours i will be holding there work! and i will be posting pictures then! so if there really is a takahisa or takihisa i would love to chat about it but i thinking he ment to say takahashi though... and tadayoshi im very excited and i enjoy learning and sharing with others with the same interests nobody here understands me lol well goodnight for now!

i find takahashi a very weird swordsmith name, and I can't find a takahashi swordsmith either. Tadayoshi and Takahisa does exist though, at least two takahisa and alot of Tadayoshi. It would help if you could you provide pictures of the blade + mei + other side of nakago No Takahisa is in the list of seki smiths RJT or gendaito smith list, Two Tadayoshi are known to have made gendaito, one of which (Fujiwara Tadayoshi) is an RJT Smith. I found two Tadayoshi that could make a nihonto early 1800. and two takahisa that could've made nihonto during the latter parts of the 17th century good luck about your blade D
