Hello I am Kevin from NY,
I 1st fell in love with replica swords when I beheld them at Disney World many years ago as a child. In a gift shop under Cinderella's castle was a collection of grossly over-priced SLO. All broadswords, and some had exquisitely decorated hilts, handles, and pommels. I could only afford the cheapest SLO...hilt etc, was all pot metal. The blade was of an unknown pewter colored metal, the words "Tizona del Cid" was etched onto the blade...a stamp stated Toledo Spain. For this reason I won't ever consider any swords manufactured in Spain, nor any cars made in France(same reason)as they produce only CLO-Car Like Objects. In High School I won a letter in Varsity fencing, and subsequently trained weekly at a ritzy upper Westside fencing academy that took in poor NYC HS students for free early on Saturdays. Years later I saw Conan 1 in theaters and I had to have the swords from there. I am a film buff and a sword buff as well. The Conan swords, the Wind and the Lion swords, Highlander swords, the Blade sword, the Gladiator swords...the list goes on. My initial real sword purchase was a Hanwei Gladius Mainz style...it soothes me to hold it and caress it. Since joining the SBG community I have purchased 3 more swords from my new favourite shop-KOA. As of yet none have arrived...two were listed as in stock and one is back-ordered. I anxiously check the front door several times a day. Reviews to follow. Again thank you for accepting me to this interesting forum, and I anticipate a great experience with all of your knowledge at hand. Kevin isotop235
