Hi Guys, Here are some photo's of the blades I've made so far! I'm by no means an expert smith yet, but once I've sorted out some of the problems in my life, I'll get back into making more blades. If anyone is interested in buying any, just send me a message and/or offers! Happy to supply details and photo's! Attachments:

Wow, those look nice. Not the best but they sure look professional to me. Do you have specific information on the materials you used and your construction methods?

Hi Guys,
Sorry haven't gotten back for a while. My blades all started out as flat bars of mild steel, a couple of the Tanto's are 1070. My forge is based on a Japanese forge but I started out using it with a hand cranked forge blower. I attempted clay tempering, but had problems getting the correct clay mixture and getting the temperature right. So most of them are semi tempered. The smaller Tanto's have a better temper than the larger blades. With the 1070 steel I had some problems with cracking when quenching. My next step is to make a box bellows and enclose the forge more so I can stop the wind from comming in the forge and so I can get the desired temp for the blades. I've also found a better clay, so i should be able to produce genuine hamon instead of acid etching them. The scabbards & Tsuka handles are just made from local pinewood. On most of the Tanto's I've used a hard compound plasitc for the fittings. Pretty much the same plastic thats on the Hanwei practical series. I use genuine Rayskin on most of the peices as well.

Very cool, noticed the fake hamon but didn't want to point it out lol. Hope that your new techniques work out, like I said your stuff already looks pretty nice. Do you have some close up pictures of the one with the bamboo-looking tsuka and saya?
