Hello (mostly) to all, I was looking in a knife sword catalog recently and noticed, Certain states were off-limits for shipping. For example VA was on the list for no-ship for "throwing stars" ...ODD since they have very open gun laws ,concealed carry, etc. seemed strange. Many states double edged fixed blades (or whatever) are banned it seems. How can I find a listing for shipping I wonder? Or does a small knife producer even need to worry about it? On "E-Bay" for example, if some cutlery item is for sale, but banned in the shipping area, yet they send it, Is it a big deal, OR could be? What about shipping out of country too, even IF one won't be accountable here in say USA , IF one shipped then traveled there , could they possibly have a "warrant" out for them on arrival??? Just wondered, I have many ideas, shipping ideas , ..."stick it to the man" HoOAAHH!! I'd like to travel some time too so it's confusing. At what point does a small hand-made manufacturer OR friend of other nationalities need to worry about this stuff??? Thanks in advance for any replies/info! God Bless!

I presume you're in Virginia? The local Post Office will have a listing of things you can't ship. Most companies will ship based on that list. You may also be able to find it online. Other than that, if you're doing the shipping, ask your options (UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc) what they will and won't ship. To my knowledge, even California doesn't ban Ownership of double-edged blades. It's the Carrying of them that's illegal. Don't know about overseas shipping, though.
