The gang has evolved considerably so lets update. On top is a Valiant Armoury Zombie Slayer Next in a Hawei Wind & Thunder Katana Then an Enlightenment Swords Zhao Dan Dao And a Zombie Tools The Deuce. The Bowie is by Mike Woods.

Nice collection, Chi; what are your thoughts on the Hanwei TacKat? There hasn't been a review of it yet.

Vincent, I'm a relative noob with swords so my opinion should be taken pretty lightly.
It is basicly a Tactical Wakizashi + 8'' of Nagasa and 1'' of Tsuka. The Nagasa measure identically at the Habaki in width and thickness. They taper equally both distally and in profile to be nearly identical at the Yokote of the Wakizashi. From that point the Katana follows the same distal and profile taper to a slighter narrower and thinner Nagasa at it's Yokote.
The Katana is somewhat more front heavy with a POB of 4 3/4'' compared to 2 3/4'' for the Wakizashi but that is to be expected I'm sure. It does still feel light and manuverable compared to my Shinto Katana and of course Nanbokucho Katana.
The fit and finish of both Wakizashi and Katana are identical as is sharpness. I'm sure that anyone that liked the Wakizashi will like the Katana as well. Honestly I think it would be hard to beat either for bang for your buck in basic Japanese swords but remember I am about as green as a sword enthusiast can be. I've only handled probably 8 or 10 Katana in my life and have no formal training.
Hopefully I haven't made a complete fool of myself in the last couple of paragraphs but it wouldn't be the first time. :?

You haven't in the least, Chi. Besides, you're less of a sword noob than I am, seeing as you have twice the number of swords I do (counting functional pieces, I only have 2; non-functional brings that up to 3), so your opinion counts for more than mine, in terms of experience. Anyways, it's good to hear info regarding the TacKat since I plan to get the two, as well as the new TacTanto that matches it when Hanwei releases it... Just as soon as I can afford them; I'm not much of a Japanese swords guy, so these pretty much consist of the majority of my wishlist when it comes to Japanese swords.

Yup, the ZT Deuce is a keeper.
I need to update the pics. There are several in them that have been traded away.
