Hi guys,
I've lurked around here and posted the occasional question under a prior account before a change of email address. Great forum. So my question today is for anyone who has one of those funky Samurai 3000 lightsaberish katanas:
Is the spine (mune) of the blade sharpened at all? I practice Iaido, and because I'm a Star Wars geek, I was considering picking one of these up to maybe even occasionally do katas with just for fun, but I can't see buying a blade that I can't resheath in the traditional way. The pictures look like it has a thick base on top near the hilt which then tapers off to a thinner edge. Paul's review didn't comment on this aspect. Does anyone know if the top edge is flat enough for safe noto?
Thanks very much for any info.

Probably, but I would strongly recommend against it, simply because it's a cheap wallhanger, likely with a rat tail rang; any mildly strong swing could likely result in a helicopter of death scenario with the blade flying out of the hilt and across the room, potentially injuring you or others.

Good point. I wonder if the blade is epoxied in. Thanks for the reply.

It's possible, but unlikely that it is. Whatever factory churns these things out, I'd say they're not particularly worried about structural integrity since they're meant to be mounted on a wall and nothing else.

Don't do it. I bought one for my younger Brother years ago and the thing was lose as hell straight out of the box.

a wallhager by definition is to be hung on the wall bro... be safe and by a musashi if you want something inexpensive but made right

I hear the Andre 3000 katana is a delight to handle.
