Here is my collection so far. Modest though it is. Both grip done by myself, and the EMSH has a scabbard as well. Scabbard for the bastard sword to come. I also have a DSA Gothic 2 hander, part of their 'dent & scratch bin. I've taken the grip off of it and made a new wooden one, but I also have to re profile and then re bevel the blade on it. Winter project hopefully.

Very nice rewrap on those. They look like completely different swords, the EMSH especially. I still need to redo the grip on mine.

Great work. And I agree with TheCrunchyCrouton (I love that name), they do look like completely different swords.

Thanks guys.
I like making things, so it is a pleasure to turn good, but fairly plain H/T blades into something unique.

Just got a new sword in and added to the collection. Atrim IIa.1 . The review sword that Greg did a review on. I got lucky on the timing and so, didn't have to wait the 4+ months for one of these bad boys. Christmas has come a bit early for me this year. w00t! I now have a small range of medieval swords here. The IIa certainly feels like a beast compared to the other two. It just wants to hew something !! Too bad I don't have anywhere to cut bottles today. Have to make a trip to a friends place, if the weather cooperates.

This isn't really an update to the collection. I just finally got them up on a wall instead of just being put aside somewhere. Found some 'antiqued bronze'* hooks that work allright for it too. When I finish up the scabbards for them I'll hang them up beside them. * They may or may not be real bronze ... for the price they were ... likely not :?:

I haven't added any sharps to my collection this past year as I have been putting some of my extra money into HEMA. I've been part of a local group studying Fiore and Meyer longsword as well as a bit of Dall'Agocchie sidesword. One of my recent purchases has been a steel training sword, so I thought it would fit in here. :-) It's a Peter Regenyei Feder. His 'heavy' model of feder with wide schilt, but custom sized to the dimensions I provided. 128cm overall 98cm blade 30cm handle. (grip + pommel) 28cm guard 1450 grams. supposed to be, haven't weighed it myself. Handles very well. The blade stands up very well to sparring with another Regenyei as well as Albion Meyers. It is a fair amount stiffer than the Meyers though, so some care has to be taken with thrusting, no full boar charges. The guard loosened up a little bit with some high intensity drills though. It is peened construction, but still a compression fit with the grip core pressing into the guard. The wood seems to have compressed a bit causing a bit of a rattle. I knocked in a couple of small metal wedges which tightened it up, but it has loosened up a smidge again. Something that can be taken care of with regular maintenance, and not something that affects the overall performance of the sword or my appreciation of it too much. And price wise it is within the neighborhood of this site's 300$ swords.

I haven't posted here in a while, just doing a lot of lurking. Most of my sword energy has gone into training and funds into training blades or protective gear. The blades added to the collection this year have been an Albion Marozzo, a great sword for practicing Bolognese sidesword. The difference that the long blade makes over training using arming swords was very illuminating. The other blade is a sharp, a Hanwei/ Tinker longsword with hilt parts made by Yeshua's Sword.
