Ok, I am a first time sword buyer, and my experience has turned into a nightmare. I've been trying (unsuccesfully) to purchase a Chaos Fantasy Sword since around May this year. First I tried Arms of Valor, who emailed me saying my order was being delayed for a few weeks, and eventually stopped replying to my emails altogether. After about a month and a half of no responses to multiple emails, I told them I was cancelling my order and have still not recieved a reply (months later). Then I tried By the Sword Inc (also looking for a chaos fantasy sword) and am seeing the same pattern. For a month or so they kept emailing me telling me to wait 6 weeks (the wait time didn't decrease as time went on), and now I haven't recieved a reply in 2 or so weeks, so I feel the cycle is repeating itself and I am considering cancelling my order again.
Help, please, I am very frustrated. Can someone reccomend me a site where I can get a Chaos Fantasy Sword relatively hassle-free? I'm considering just looking for a guardian sword instead, cause the chaos fantasy sword seems to be impossible to get and that one looked nice too.

Are you referring to Generation 2's Sword of Chaos?

This sounds familiar ... Did you post about this under another name, a few months ago ?

I believe so - I recall posting about it when the issue first came up, and I had to make a new username as I'd forgotten my original password. I'm beginning to get frustrated though, so any advice on efficient sites to purchase from would be appreciated.

Hey, Fate; Kult of Athena, pretty much the best place to buy swords on the 'net, lists it as back-ordered, but they have top-notch, pure excellence for customer service, so you can e-mail them, ask if they know when (or if) it'll be in stock. Also, if you'd like to get a sword now, they've got about a thousand different options from 18 manufacturers (I'm only counting those who produce functional swords, not SLOs), so you could definitely find something you like. They also have pretty much the cheapest prices on the 'net.

Thanks - I sent them an email today, and will await a response before taking action. I find it a good sign that Kult of Athena at least, unlike my previous sites, marks their swords as backordered. I found it annoying that they didn't inform you that the sword was backordered until AFTER you made the purchase.

Yes. Most sword vendors I've seen mark them as either In Stock, Out of Stock, or don't mark them at all. KoA on the other hand marks them as In Stock, Out of Stock, Backordered, Pre-Order, Wait Time (such as in the case of a few of their higher end Euro sword: Usually Available in "_"), and Click for Available Options (usually for clothes, armor, and the like, but a few swords that have the option of different grip colors or blade lengths also have this).
They also offer an in house sharpening service that is, by all reports, top notch. There's a sword sharpening method well known around here, known as TomK Sharp, that involves the use of a belt sander, and produces excellent results; well, a member of ours visited KoA's showroom last week and found out they sharpen all swords that are requested to be sharpened (except for Windlass, which they just order sharp from the factory in that case) in the same fashion.

Yes, KOA is definitely the way to go. Guarantee you will hear back from them tomorrow or Monday at the latest. Sorry you had such a bad experience, I almost always go through KOA and have never had an issue.

Kult of Athena is the only place I purchase sub 300 production swords from unless I grab something from Museum Replicas Deal of the Day.

Ok, so I recieved my reply from Kult of Athena today, stating that it may be months before the Chaos Fantasy Sword is in stock. Any suggestions for a similar, similarly-priced functional fantasy sword? Right now I'm considering Darksword's Flame of Angels www.kultofathena.com/product.asp ... +of+Angels and Darksword's Guardian Sword www.kultofathena.com/product.asp ... dian+Sword Right now I'm leaning a bit towards the Guardian sword (although it is significantly more expensive). Any advice?
