Very much a noob question. To get the slight 'usage' scratches out of my Katana, and restore back to mirror polish. Is there something you can use? Obviously without polishing using stones or sand paper. My uchiko has kept me going all right up till now. But now its just not sufficient enough.

Just make sure that you polish it all going the same direction. It is an abrasive, mind you a very minor one, but you don't want to leave circular scratch patterns on the blade.

I found some at the auto zone by my house. It works freakin wonders man. I have never seen my swords look so happy. Brasso will make your blades rust if you dont clean it REALLY well and oil it. so stay away from it.

I've used Brasso quite a bit. It works well, I'd just make sure that after using it you clean the blade with 90% isopropyl alcohol and then re-oil.

I guess thats what I was doing wrong. Using dry rags to clean it after brasso application. I suppose different steel/heat treat react differently.
