Hey, i was wondering, is there a site that sells cutting stands, or are they generally home built? I should probably already know this, but i have been cutting bottles placed on the top of garbage cans

Type "tameshigiri stand" into Google and it should bring up any and all info you could ever want or need from prices to plans.

Or just take that 4x4 and sharpen the end with an axe. If you don't mind the hole.

I went to a construction site by my house and got a wooden fence post and a 2x4. Just saw the 2x4 into 4 pieces and nail them to the post and each other as legs, then drill a hole in the top for a peg. All of the materials would be less than $10 if you had to buy them.

bit of necromancy here. I tried to make my own stand for bottles, cracked the center wooden piece and I'm not inclined to try again for now. At this point, does anyone sell stands for cutting bottles? the ones so many here use

You can get one at Swordnarmory that would work. Cost is about $58 after shipping. Bugei sells them too, but at about twice the cost of SnA.

Personally, I just look three pieces of 4x4 and nailed them together. Zero cost, five minutes of work. Take an old, beat-up camera tripod. Attach a wooden block in place of camera. Done.

All you need is a 4x4 or a peeler core and a Christmas tree stand or a bucket with concret.

Or a slightly longer 4x4 and a hole in the ground.
