First of all, hello to all my new brothers at arms and thank you to the admins for a great place to get together with you all. Back to the question at hand... Is there anyone here that can give me a bit more info on the level of contact I can expect from the people at www.proswords.com/? I've emailed them a couple few weeks ago regarding their ability to accommodate me in providing my own koshirae as I've not found everything I'm looking for offered on their site but, have yet to hear back from them. I understand this isn't a 10k+ plus sword site but looking to invest $500 to $1500 with them to build a sword seems like they would have more prompt customer service. Any help you guys could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm glad to hear they are active here. It did seem quite odd to hear them spoken of so highly on SBG and then not get a response.

they certainly do offer some nice options, hopefully their site gets up and running soon.. Other than server issues, I assume these guys make a sturdy blade?

From what I've read the swords are fairly nice. However, they are not without problems. The one I read most about is poor paintwork on the saya. I've also read that it is fairly blade-heavy. It is meant to be a medium to heavy cutter, so the balance should be adequate for that purpose, but I hear it is more so than needed. The blade looks gorgeous, though. Many times when a poor review pops up it seems that it was for a piece that was drop-shipped directly from the Chinese forge, without stopping first in Canada for Quality Control.

The blade length and customization options there seem like a good way to get a blade for tameshigri more in line with my tastes and what the local Dojo also reccomends... I get the one place that reccomends tachi XD

I finally got an e-mail back last night. Pam was very helpful with my questions and sent most of the missing pictures of stock etc from the website. I ordered one of their custom katanas, so hopefully it turns out well; i'll have to do a review when it arrives!

Seconded... They have some very tempting designs, but I'm just curious on in hand impressions, so to speak.
