I got one of the new Kahr CM9, 9mm semi automatic pistol the other day. So far I'm liking it real well, very good accuracy for a gun it's size. Very small and light weight only 16oz. unloaded. I was thinking of getting the Ruger LC9 until I found out they aren't rated for Plus P ammo. I'm not left handed just couldn't hold the pistol in my right hand and use the camera.

whats your opinion of the painted rear sight? it messes me up when i try to aim because the colors blend together. i have the same trouble with 3 dot sights. but that guns gives a new meaning to the term "pocket rocket"

I don't have any problem with the dot the eye sights on it, they are smaller than I like but it a concealment hangun. If I do ever change them I'll have 3 dot fiberoptic/night sights put on. Can't understand why the colors blend togather for you. But there is no problem with black on black sights, several of my handguns have them I can shoot them just as well. It's smaller sights I have a problem with since I'm getting older. It's strange but I can see any sights ok outdoors but indoors I have a problem. It's part of the reason I'm but fiber optic sights on the handguns I can.
The CM9 and CM40 are new handguns Kahr came out with this year they are cheaper than the same size PM9 or PM40. The PM9 and PM40 run around $785.00, the CM9 and CM40 run around $430.00. The main difference the PM models have more rounded slides on the top and dovetailed front sight.

im too used to the single actions and GI styled sights i guess. I do however like a white dot on my front sight with a solid black rear. I just colored out the rear dots with a Sharpie and was good to go. How many rounds does that sucker hold?

7, 6rd mag. you can get a mag with a extended finger rest to hold 7, but I don't for finger rest mags. I feel they defeat the purpose of a small handgun.

Good to see someone I know who owns one of these; I was considering a CW9 for my first pistol because I like the idea of more to hold onto (and because Kimbers are expensive), so it's good to hear about Kahrs.

Yeah, but they're soooo gorgeous. Plus, I have yet to see a bad word about them from anyone (excluding those who just hate Kimber). Same goes for Kahr; that kinda reputation says something to me.

Kimbers have issues like any other brand, when your mass producing guns theres always lemons, whats more important is customer service in dealing with the lemons. They are beautiful guns, but i know alot of guys who got lemons. Kimber did handle the problems though. My uncle loves his kimber custom II. i just cant justify spending 1500$ on a kimber when a Springer functions just as well. Yes the Kimber Looks nicer...but 800$ better? thats the question the consumer has to ask themself  Personally if i was gonna buy an expensive 1K+ 1911, id go with Les Baer. Im not a kimber hater, but kimber just doesnt fill a niche for me. Not that others wouldnt love them, Kimber IS the most well known production 1911

Since fallen is an employee of the local police department, he should have no problem getting that ammo info... and the ammo. Pretty sure a source of his frustration is that his issue ammo is +P. So now he has to actually buy ammo for this little gun. Oh dear!

Congratulations on your new Kahr, they are some very compact guns with great triggers. I own a few myself, but they are the steel framed models, which are a bit heavier and rated for the +P+ ammo. I've had virtually no problems with mine, but I hear that the polymer ones can be a little finicky (at least a few years ago). Keep us updated on how yours performs, I wouldn't mind picking up one of the polymer models if they've got the bugs ironed out.

So far with just the little shooting I've did with it, it's doing just fine. For me very controllable even useing plus P plus ammo. The only problem I've run into the mag doesn't want to release sometimes, and the mag release buttom is stiff. I'm sure it will wear in after I use it more. The accuracy is far more than I expected out of a handgun this small. It will mainly be a backup handgun and concleaded use during the summer, most of the time I either carry my Glock 17 duty weapon or Glock 19 . As far as ammo goes if you use the right ammo over penetration isn't much of a problem. I use Winchester Law Enforcement plus P plus 127gr HPs. What surprised me most I ordered a Mitch Rosen insde the waistband through Kahr for only $65.00. Now I just need to find a ankle holster I like.

Good to hear, man, and hopefully the mag release will loosen up with use. Another great holster for the mini Kahrs is the Crossbreed Mini-Tuck ( www.crossbreedholsters.com/MiniT ... roductName). It doesn't have the clip on top of the gun and virtually disappears under even a light shirt in the summertime.

Little sucker is doing great, I've put around 500rds through standard velicity and some of my + p+ reloads. I only problem I've had the first couple of mags didn't lock the slide back on the last shot. It's been locking back fine seen then. The recoil it a little snappy using + p+ ammo. It been very acturate at 7yds in rapid fire appox 3in groups. Got a Mitch Rosen Express Line inside the waistband holster for it. The magazine release problems have clear up, it will release the mag clean without much pressure on the release buttom.

Good to hear that the mag button has loosened up and that she's shooting good. These mini-Kahrs are a bit snappy with the recoil, and you definitely have to establish a good grip with your ring and middle fingers with them, but great little guns and I love the smooth trigger.
