Hello, Well this is my first post so first off wanted to just say hi I definitely appreciate these forums and the goal of the forums and this site in general as well. This site and it's articles (and what it sells) is a huge benefit to many of us who don't know a whole lot about Japanese swords and don't have thousands to blow on a guaranteed thing. Now on to the topic of the thread. I was wondering if anyone has fully tested Badtrack. Here's a link to their ebay store and some links to swords they sell: Badtrack.BladeSword 1Sword 2I've tried googling them and have seen very few comments about them on the web and no solid evaluation. They have very good ebay feedback but then again that doesn't mean they make good cheap swords. In any case was curious if anyone has evaluated their swords recently?

Hello and welcome to the forum mattlangley, Have often seen badtrack but not bought one.First off i don`t think any katana could be made correctley with good grade steel for so little, also many of the pictures show the blade with a secondary edge, crap! Also not much detail on the construction i.e. pictures of tang and number of mekugi used.Unless someone here has one and can tell you different i would avoid them like the plague.

welcome Mattlangley.
I'd be pretty suspicious of these guys' quality. Look at the prices. Some of those are imppossibly cheap. I think it would be well worth avoiding the risk and going with a higher quality company. If you want a cheap, functional katana, I'd recommend Musashi. Take a look through their products. A few of their sword have been reviewed here and recieved outstanding marks, which, along with their incredibly low price, makes it quite the sword in my opinion.

Thanks for the replies and great advice. I have definately checked out Musashi and some of the other katana options that this site has reviewed (I definately want to get one of the new PKs from Paul Chen after reading the latest review) though was hoping someone might have tried it. I definately understand the suspicion, which I definately have the same. The price definitely supports that, then again it's a common sales trick (ebay trick especially) to show a low price and high shipping and actually have a very good shipping deal worked out to ship out much cheaper and make profit off of the shipping. Not the most encouraging aspect, though I've known legitimate and good products that do the same, especially on ebay. I definately know my options (especially thanks to this site) though was hoping someone had actually ordered one and tried it and tested it objectively and could give me some real info on them. They do have quite a bit of good feedback though I haven't found any good reviews of them on the web. What keeps me curious is I haven't found any legitimate bad reviews of their swords either, mostly just what you are already saying (and what I already have said myself as well), that they seem suspicious. Thanks for the feedback, still looking for anyone with knowledge on katana's that has reviewed, tested, or tried their swords
