Anybody have thoughts, feedback on the high capacity Para-Ordanance receivers???
(Not sure if they're even still available as it's been a while).
I'm just 6 feet, but I find whichever grip a bit short and narrow on the 1911's ,
so the wide grip is actually better for me.
A while back I had a parkerized 1911 A1.
It had a wide revolver style hammer, and a wide target trigger.
The Parkerized gray is a little boring IMO, but it had a chrome barrel.
All together these gave it a real classic look/feel.
Very heavy pistol for carry though. (I'd occasionally tuck it in my belt and it pulled pants down a bit).
Well the advantage of stainless is scratches can be fixed easier. If it's too shiny it can be sandblasted or similar on the top of slide and left dull on the rest.
Cool link By the way Saito.
Oh been curious about an
"Exploding .45 ACP Round": ...
I'd never try it But perhaps "Mythbuster's" type stuff:
A Book stated to drill a hole in the bullet corresponding to .22 rimfire and superglue the .22 shell in backwards...
(Must've been before .22 nailgun blanks, not sure but .25 nailgun rim is probably too large).
Seems very dangerous since it could go off inside the barrel and lodge the round exploding the barrel or at best just the shell.
Plus friction and heat could cause it to go off in air...Perhaps it's like touching something for millisecond(s) with a torch and safe(
) perhaps it fails 1 in 1000 and it's not worth it(
)...
Still I'd LOVE to see what it would do to clay block, and gellatin too.
I'm more interested in more basic .45 sabots, or the .400 Corbon though.
(Seems like everytime I go to an outdoor range as I get even 25 yards out I see perfect .45 bullets resting on top of the ground)
