I am looking to get a high end 45acp 1911, right now I am thinking of getting one of the Les Baer's haven't decieded on which model. Has anyone had any expenince with these handguns. Or it there another high 1911 pattern gun I should look at, please don't say a Springfield or Kimber I already decieded against them. I am thinking about the $2,200.00 to $2,500.00 price range. Used would be Ok with me to has long as it's in like new conidition. I ready want a Wilson Combat but they are out of my price new.

Springfield or Kimber.. just kidding! I am curious as to why you've ruled those out - the Springfield loaded I had needed extractor tuning out of the box, and the Kimber had a misfitted grip safety. In both cases I just fixed it myself.
There's a TON of custom 1911 builders out there.. So what about the Les Baer appeals to you? It may help narrow down alternative choices.

There are several choices but if I was buying right now my first choice would be a Valtro. www.valtrousa.com/It's an involved process but you get the most you can out of the platform fitted for you. Takes a while but well worth it. Highly recommended by many "In the know"! To my knowledge he is still doing this work. Good luck with your decision!

Everyone has a Springfield or Kimber, they are ok but nothing near the quaily of the Les Baer. Like A_J said he had minor problems with the Kimber and Springfield out of the box. I want something completely made in the USA Kimber and Springfield are not.

I knew springfield wasn't, but I had no idea about Kimber.

You might look at Nighthawk Custom. The owner is a former Wilson Combat employee and makes beautiful works of art/combat efficiency. I particularly like his GRP. At $2,700 retail, it's close to your price point. And I have never heard anything at all negative about his products, only glowing reports. www.nighthawktactical.com/GRP.html

Congrats - post pics when ya get it.. Are those already made, so your wait time should be minimal?
Also, I just recently picked up a CZ-75 (9mm) as I've never tried one before, you may like those - the standard models have a frame mounted safety, so you can go cocked and locked on those as well. Excellent gun, and available in compact sizes.

Ordered the Les Baer today, and spend way too much money I also got a Kahr CM9 9mm semi auto pistol with stainless steel slide. Had TruGlo night sights put on My Glock model 20 10mm semi auto pistol. Just couldn't find a holster for my new Kahr CM9. I almost got a Benchmade knife, I might go ahead get one when I pick up the Les Baer just have to deciede on which one I want.
I'll get out tomorrow to test out the CM9, and get the Glock 20 sighted in.
