Hi every one,
This is my first time posting here. I have been reading all thr reviews and guides here But I am unsure ans to wat is the most historicly accurat of the Battle ready Templar swords on the market. I want one that is a fully funtional one with a full tang, carbon steel blade and acts As close to the real thing as possible, but not to be to expensive. I have seen the Albion, DSA, Gen2 version, but not sure on those.
Thanks

Don't take this the wrong way Gus, but I really get tickled at how many folks get this compelling urge to own a sword and then go thru this virgin ritual of saying they want absolute fidelity, but penetration shouldn't hurt and they sure as heck don't want to get pregnant
If you think about this, you really alredy know the answer to your own question.
For fidelity look at the Albion and it's dimensions. Then consider the options and price ranges below that.
Personally, I like the VA Signature series sword for a complete package. You get a fine carrier to go with a very nice weapon. Gen2 and DSA will give you simpler solutions with "robust" steel you can beat the snot out of and still have a sword at the end of the day. ( DSA actually has upgrade options now...)
There is no right answer. It's what you really prioritize your desires as. I've got swords from $150 to $3000. They all work.

DSA and Gen2 have been noted to be very overbuilt, although they are functional and Eyal of DSA backs his products against pretty much anything. They are heavier than an average sword of their size, though, so that's something to take into consideration (the DSAs generally much more so). There's also the Valiant Armory Knight's Templar: It's more expensive than either DSA or Gen2, but not as much as Albion, so it's a good compromise; it's also the lightest over DSA and Gen2 at 2lbs 9oz. Also, if I remember right (and I may not be), the blade is essentially the same as the one on their Practical Longsword, which has had many good things said about it here. It's a little more expensive than the DSA, but it's about half the weight and comes sharp (which the DSA does not unless you have it sharpened for an additional fee). EDIT: Dave beat me to it and put it so much more succinctly.

That VA Version is very nice! Know where I can get one? It appears to be on backorder.
Thanks

You can get in touch with Sonny Suttles, the owner of VA; you can pm him here (username is Sonny Suttles) or you can e-mail him through VA's website and ask approximately when the next shipment arrives. Also, as an added bonus, if you order directly through VA, you can generally customize the color at no extra cost (though that only goes for the standard colors, I believe), so if you don't care for brown & tan and would prefer something else (and VA has such a wide array of colors, there was actually a thread started to try and catalogue them all), there's that option.

Dave and I recently sold ours off
The blade (I think it's a 304 on the site, or XIIa) does not feel as substantial as say an HT bastard. This may be just me - I'm a big fella. If you're a slimmer guy, I think this would feel great in hand. Either way Sonny has been mounting some of his fittings on HT bare blades (see his custom sword shoppe) with the full package. He also can get them on Atrim blades for a higher price point.
-Register for the VA forums -> 20% discount -about a 4 -6 week turnaround for your sword, longer depending on if they have the parts in stock

Thanks everyone for the great help. I desided to contact VA through there website. So fare no response but hope thay will let me know. I also asked them if thay do custom work. Would be interested to known.
As Much as I like the Albion versions thay are just so very pricy This applyed to the Arn Sword and the Templar Oakshott. Are They worth that price?
Tried to contact Cult of athena but no responce yet too.
