Hi all,
Anyone care to share any personally obtained info about Iaido/other JSA schools in the LA area? Anyone have any experience with the Kashima-Shinryu Club at UCLA? I rather like the idea of comprehensive study, and non-profit. The current style I study (which I really dig BTW), Mushin Ryu JuJitsu, doesnt get into swords until black belt is achieved, which is, at the very least, 2 years away for me, probably more.
TIA,
G

You got tons of possibilities in the LA area. I wouldn't study an empty-hand art in hopes of learning swords; do ju-jutsu for ju-jutsu. It's a worthy art in itself. Check out this JSA school, they may be in your area: www.shinkendo.com/

Check out this JSA school, they may be in your area: www.shinkendo.com/This is actually the headquarters dojo for Shinkendo lead by the founder of the art. They also teach Akido there as well. I study Shinkendo in AZ, and I like the art very much.
