Here are all of my random, poorly drawn sword designs I drew them all in Paint.net with no shading (because the gradient tool for PDN sucks). I have two for now, I had a third that I was very fond of (a small two-handed euro) but I corrupted the image with some bad saving. I'll redraw it tomorrow I suppose. Edit: now using a vector program to draw stuff, updated both designs. The first is a spatha of sorts, except the blade has a single edge and what I would call a bayonet point (please let me know the real word for it if you know). The second is a slight redesign the sword from the game Shadow Warrior. On the box art, Lo Wang is carrying a large, ornate katana but in game it's a rather plain looking ninjato with some odd spiky bits (?). It's supposed to be a two-hander, but I think that the grip came out too short and fat. I'll have to redraw it sometime.

Hey, KoreanGuy; that bayonet spatha is pretty interesting, though I think a thinner guard would fit it better. Also, the "bayonet point" is properly called a clip point and is very common on things like bowies.

Ooh, clip point. What do you mean by a thinner guard?
Updated main post, added a double fuller to the spatha and included a bit more detail. Working on a few more swords right now.

Not so wide. Here, a visual representation'll get my point across much better than I can since I can't think of a way to describe it properly. This here's an Albion Auxilia Spatha: See how the guard doesn't extend much past the blade (it's circular, so that width is the width all around, though there are ovular ones on one or two of their gladii that are thinner on the flat side) on the edges? That's more or less what I meant and I was thinking of it from more of a pseudo-historical standpoint; you're free to do what you want (that's what I did).

Ah, I see. But yeah, I'm going to leave it as-is because I like the look and I'm not very concerned about historical accuracy. Before I go to bed, here's the first draft of a two-handed fantasy short sword.

Testing out some textures and "fancy" drawing stuff. Doesn't have much to do with sword design but I thought it was neat. Trying to figure out how to make things look as realistic as possible at the moment.
