About two weeks ago I purchased the DSA Wallace sword from Reliks. This is my first DSA sword.
www.reliks.com/merchant.ihtml?pid=5030
The measurements listed on KOA is accurate to my sword: kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=DSA1362
I'm not an expert on swords but there were a few problems with the sword.
#1. The blade twists up and down along the whole length. Noticeable when looking down it or laying it on a table.
#2. Either the guard or tang is bent.
#3. Leather grips stitching is coming loose.
#4. Guard fits loose on blade, with one side of ricasso glued to the guard.
#5. Glue on ricasso holding it to guard doesn't hold, and now makes a rattling noise when struck against an object.
#6. The sword feels like a rubber sword when struck against an object, wobbles a lot; kind of like in Bugs Bunny where when they hit a sword against something hard it wobbled like crazy, shaking the wielder.
#7. The scabbard only goes up to the ricasso, I do now notice that where the ricasso is touching the scabbard is bending back a little.
#8. Blade edge; I read that they are beaters and have tough edges, but when I tried it, it nicked with ease (no hard hits or anything). I struck it against the Hanwei Knightly. The blade was blunt, not sharp. If want an idea on what the edge looks like, take a look at the review for the DSA Norman and scroll down to where he does the edge test; it looks like the blade on the left. www.sword-buyers-guide.com/DSA-Norman.html
Please tell me if any of these are normal when it comes to DSA swords or any other swords; the only other sword I've owned is the Hanwei Knightly sword.
What I like:
#1. Looks good...from a distance. When held you notice the problems I listed above.
#2. Handles good, I can almost use it one handed.
Overall:
It's an okay buy. I don't know if I'll buy another DSA due to the problems.

Those are my thoughts,
