TrueSwords is offering a 1045 Steel Zangetsu shikai (The really really big one ). www.trueswords.com/ichigo-sword- ... -6102.html www.trueswords.com/ichigo-sword- ... -6101.html Now the rust issue I'm gonna let slide, because big pieces of High Carbon steel are hard to keep oiled, but anyone see any other glaring faults, since Trueswords does have a reputation for some strange pieces. The tsuka is not likely to be steller, but new ones can be made. The only thing I'm really worried is if the tang is wide and strong enough. Any thoughts?

I saw these awhile back and was rather amused that they bothered making carbon steel versions instead of the cheap stainless junk nameless companies have been churning out. That said, I'm still unimpressed as always. If you're going for accuracy, do it right. Zangetsu should be 174cm long with a slight curve; the tang should be approximately 1/4 of the overall length or about 43.5cm. The point should also be needle-like, as if the entire blade were a monstrous shobu-zukuri. Instead we get these half-assed pieces of junk that look like overgrown kitchen cleavers.
Complaints aside, no matter what, Zangetsu will always be a wallhanger, no matter what it's made from. It's just too massive to be anything else. Now, Tensa Zangetsu, if made properly (as in, of o-katana length and completely straight with maybe a slight curve near the tip since in every appearance, Tensa Zangetsu is depicted as having little to no sori), or Ichigo's final Fullbring sword would be extremely nice pieces.

The thing doesn't have a tsuka. It's full tang with hardwood grip scales and a wrap. I think it would be pretty solid, but the sucker does weigh more the 8 pounds, and I somehow doubt it is a balanced 8 pounds
