Dear friends,
Does anyone know what year the Chinese began to falsify the Japanese swords? And when the Chinese began making art Tsuba (those made with good quality)? And these Tsuba of brass, when the Chinese began to manufacture it? Thanks!

Well, the Chinese have been making reproductions of swords that are commonly seen as Japanese, the Nihonto or Shinken style of sword for decades. The "Samurai" sword is actually a variation of a Chinese design, and the Japanese supposedly first learned forging from the Chinese. Bearing this in mind, I think that "falsify" is not the term to use. A more correct term would be "reproduction," I think. I think that until the last decade or so most of the reproductions were of not great quality. However, within that time we are seeing Chinese made Katanas that are of fairly good quality. Sorry if this isn't quite the answer you were looking for, but it's all that came to mind. Keep up your research, it will pay off.

I see that my last post was a duplicate. If anyone knows how to delete one of them, I am grateful! Hug!

Dear a.jordan,
Thank you for responding so promptly to my question! Well, I was also wondering about the artistic Tsuba (those made with good quality) and about the Tsuba of brass (not bronze), but you helped a lot talking about the reproduction of Japanese swords in general. Thank you!
