No problem, thing is it has got an edge. But that edge is rounded at the very end, making it as sharp as a butter knife. I can barley even cut cardboard. The structural integrity is questionable, the entire grip can turn about 60 degrees with some force. however tightening the "nut" (it's more like a ball with a hole through it)
The tip is pretty amazing, sharp as hell! slashing and stabbing is no problem (though the sword is a bit unwieldy)
The handle gets rough on your hands after a bit, it's a wire wrap on "leather" which seems to be "leather" (plastic) all the way to the core. Needs gloves for extended usage.
Basket is brass and has a red felt/cotton liner. occasionally gets uncomfortable if you hold it too close to the top of the basket. has nylon (or something similar) tassels sticking out of the pommel.
Scabbard is metal and is suspended like a saber via rings (though I have no idea how to use them). not sure which way the sword fits in, it seems to be better with the basket up however this makes it harder to draw, so I think it's supposed to be handle up, basket down. (sword is hard to draw anyway because it's too long for me)
This is kinda a draft review, I'll make a full review after sharpening.

But of course good sir! First thing I checked. Though the tang seems a little on the thin side, I can say it is full tang

Be wary of sharpening and using that sword. From reading your descriptions I would be very hesitant to use that sword. A hilt that's so loose it shifts/turns almost 60 degrees, what sounds like a low quality nut holding it all together and a thin (albeit full) tang. No offense but it could just be an SLO.

Aye, but I've fixed the handle problems. it is indeed carbon steel because it came oiled, however it is very blade heavy (at least to me)

How to buy it and give 50£ after delivery? This thread is 13 years old and the seller no longer exists.
