Hello all.
Just wanted to briefly introduce myself and ask a quick question or two. My name is Josh, I live in the Valley of the Sun in Arizona, and am looking to purchase my first real sword. I'm not sure how much of a collector I'll turn out to be, which is why I'm looking at just buying the right blade the first time around (hopefully!) I think I've decided on the Albion Knight (which coincidentally is produced about an hour south of my hometown), though I'm also considering the Albion Vigil.
My main question is how hard it would be to get a custom scabbard made for either blade, and also how difficult it would be to have an antiquated finish applied to the furniture (I believe I read that Albion itself does not offer any customization beyond grip color.) Is updating the finish something that I could tackle at home, or is it better to let someone with more knowledge and experience do the dirty work?
I'm sure I'll think of more questions down the road, but this should do it for now. I've browsed a bit, and there is a very large wealth of knowledge on this forum, of which I'm very impressed. I look forward to getting to know all of you better, and thanks in advance for any advice you can give me. Cheers!

Thanks for the warm welcome and all the advice. I will definitely have to get in touch with Sonny or Brian when I am ready, they both look to do wonderful work.

Placing my order on Monday for a Vigil. Spent most of the week making the decision between the two, just think the Vigil has more of the "uniqueness" that I'm looking for. Now for the worst part...the waiting.

You can order an Albion in a "New" fashion by default, or request it to be aged like the Kingmaker image below, or simply request to have the hilt blued which can then be sanded off if you decide you don't like it. I prefer the bluing only myself, as the 'aged' version Albion does has pitting and cannot be undone.

Welcome yourself... I do have a question, you say the Albion Knight is produced a hour south of you? And you live in Arizona? Because Albion is based in Wisconsin, IIRC... Of course, I could be wrong! Anyway, welcome here

Edelweiss has the right of it. I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin, and coincidentally most of my family is still there. I'm flying home in about a month, so I might have to make a pilgrimage down to New Glarus to not only visit Albion, but the brewery as well. I can almost taste the Fat Squirrel Nut Brown! Sorry for any confusion Elheru, and thanks for the welcome. And thanks for the info Brian! I wasn't aware that they were allowing finish requests on the furniture, I will definitely have to inquire about that when I place my order.
