Its here best birthday so far this year! I dont have time for a full review cause I go to work in a couple hours. Heres a few teaser images to wet your appetite. Eyal and co. were very generous and inlcuded the upgraded scabbard and sword belt My initial impression is wow this thing is light and handles beautifully. The leather is nice the grip feels great all around fantastic. There was a little rust on the quillion but not to bad rubbed off really easy. Full review coming once I have some days off again. Cheers And a huge thanks to Eyal, DSA and everyone who voted to make this sword a reality!

Gah! Curse you Feanor with buying such and awesome sword! I know you said you were going to put up a proper review later but if you have time now.... -Do you have any issues with the pommel scraping your arms/wrists or snagging on clothing? -Any complaints about the leather work? -As above, peened or riveted? Hope you love your sword Feanor! (Curufinwe)

Since that question keeps coming back; i cant certify it but i'm quite sure the pommel is peened. Anduril might be the only DSA which is not peened ( for obvious reasons ) We will wait Feanor's review but i would be really surprised if it was made otherwise.

Or the Black Prince...man, if that one were peened, I'd be all over it!

OK - I could be wrong? But I have one comming (already shipped). I talked to Eyal about this (he was kind enough to return my emails, even though the man is busy as HELL)... couldn't see how, with that sharp a tip, the pommel COULD be peened. From what he's told me? It isn't. Now, I knew this BEFORE I placed an order.... and I have all the faith in the world that DSA did a very GOOD job securing that pommel. So - the securing method may be a little "different", but then, the sword is VERY different. Everything should NOT have a wheel pommel on it . I'm still struggling with myself.... do I have enough faith in my abilities to take the sword apart? "Apart" is always very easy... "back together" can be a major semprini . And it's so damn PERFECT in it's artistry....

I wouldn't try it until you have to (if it loosens up during use)...something is likely to get buggered up.

I have their Black Knight sword that came with something loose in the fittings. The pommel on that one is not peened and there was no way it was coming off much less moving at all. Ended up drilling a couple of holes in the wooden grip and filling with expoxy. That fixed the rattle. Saw a thread somewhere where the guy had to put the pommel (still attached to the sword) in boiling water for awhile to get it off on the Black Prince.

Yes, and STUNNING craftsmanship. I would guess that the only problem with the Darksword offering is the total lack of a semi-flat surface at the pommel tip (could be overcome with a good countersink), and the TIME required to do justice to each unit... peening and shaping these would really force Darksword to seriously increase the unit price to make up for the intense labor....
