Got the new Cold Steel Ti-Lite 4" the other day....zesty blade. It looks like it's made more for, uh, um...'social work' well...damn if I can't figure out how to post a youtube video below...so here's the link.

I got the zytel handle....it's an ounce lighter than the titanium handle, but the blade is slightly better on the expensive model. It's a bear to open from the hand, but it has a neat trick where you hook one of the quillions on your pants pocket and it pops right open when you pull it from your pocket.

I've got the same one...it's dead simple to snap it open, just flick your thumb straight upwards into the stud & follow through, it's similar in motion to snapping your fingers, it wll flick open faster than a switchblade...give it a try.

i've been looking at one of those for awhile... how well does the blade on the zytel one hold an edge, i've heard its a bit disappointing.

mine has the aus 8a stainless steel blade, I've owned it for more than a year, i've kind of abused it, used it for throwing, as a screwdriver, as a bottle opener, to pry steel banding off of pallets...and after all of that not a single chip in the blade, and all it takes to sharpen it up is a few passes with a ceramic rod. I'm a lot more impressed with cold steel's knives than I have been with their swords.
I usually hone the blade about once a week, and this takes it from very sharp back to shaving sharp, so I've had no complaints with it's ability to hold an edge.
