"they are the best deals currently available on the knife market" Hah, that sounds kind of amusing to a Scandinavian like me - since the Mora knives are so plentiful here. Some model of them is available in practically every store (including supermarkets) that sells anything even remotely related to building or outdoors activities. Mora is generally known to be THE "cheap knife" here - the one that you're almost SUPPOSED to drop in the ocean, run over with a truck or forget in your cement mixer... I remember that I once went to a local junkyard/scrap metal store and saw a big barrel (about 5 feet high and 3 feet across) FULL of semi-used Mora-knives, sitting there in the yard, out there in the open, just waiting for rain and rust I guess... I don't know how many there were exactly... 300? Maybe 500? Even a thousand? But damn there were a lot of knives. ;D I've heard that from other Scandinavian folks. Like you grab one on the way out of the hardware store from a display next to the register. Here in the USA, though, those types of knives are almost always pure crap that won't sharpen, won't hold an edge, and break if you look at them the wrong way. Moras are in that same price range ($8-14 USD), but they are decent steel, either carbon (I don't know the specific type) or Sandvik 12c27 or 12c27M, they take a frightening edge, they hold said edge through a lot of cutting, and they are fairly tough. THey make great camping and fishing knives, and they're cheap enough you can drop them in the river and not worry about it. ;D I think they are taken for granted in the Scandi countries, due to how common they are, but here in the USA they pretty much own the "cheap" knife market amongst knife lovers (like me). ![;)](//storage.forums.net/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Sorry. I guess I kinda strayed from the thread topic of CS throwing stars. ![:-[](//storage.forums.net/forum/images/smiley/embarrassed.png) Carry on, doods. ![;)](//storage.forums.net/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

In Canada, Moras are the knife for the hunter or survivalist. I have a box of about a dozen and just grab one as needed. I like the Frost's better than the EJ Erickson Mora Knives. My dad has an old Frost's Laminatdstal (laminated like san-mai) one with the red handle, but the ones that I have sport a newer green handle and only say Kolstal on them so I'm not sure if they're laminated. His is beefier. BTW, if you are interested you can pick up some of said Mora knives here for about $10: www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=78455

The Saskatchewan way is to have cheap stainless steel Winchester knives! ;D

Is it necessary for stars to be up to the same metal standards as swords? Mostly I just want them to be able to keep an edge, but I usually lose them before they ever break, so durability isnt really a priority for me.
