i have a .40 cal(basically a toy compared to my other one because it can not take down anything bigger then a lizard)

I made one for a high school english presentation on something like 'giving instructions on how to do something', information sourced from the jolly rogers cookbook... does that count?

I've made pea shooters and shot a large bore .44 professional sport blowgun with explosive ammunition, which was alot of fun. A .44 large bore will take down a rabbit pretty easy and effectively even without explosive ammunition.

I have both. The big one from cold steel is a hoot, takes some getting use to after only using the small one, but it packs a punch that's for sure. If you go to buy any make sure you get the tube extensions and as many darts as you can. The thick foam boards they use in construction make a great back stop for blow guns and for knife and shuriken throwing. As swordboy say's money well spent. BW where do you get that ammo?

I had a blowgun once a cheap one tho , but they are pretty fun to play with. While we are talking about "odd" weapons, when I was younger we always did weapons from the core of toilet paper rolls and put a balloon at the end and shot peas with them. So I took a plastic tube and put a condom at the end and damn that thing could shoot. I once shot down a crow with it and he was stone cold dead. Not that I was around 10 years old, I don't shoot things at crows anymore .

hm the old condom in the tube trick ey....
well personally i love the cold steel one but you need tonssss of darts because you lose em so quick
and the 40 cals are alright for targets i guess...

Heh. I know of some "dog sized animals" I'd like to take down with a nice, quiet, indiscreet weapon.

I had a blowgun and used it for years, until someone made off with it. They are amazingly fun. I never thought to make explosive ammunition, though. Hmmmm...........*remembers high school days* Probably best that I didn't know about the explosive ammunition.

I have a blowgun. It is the four or five foot type. It is fun and is accurate out to about 20 or 25 feet or so. I believe it would kill a rat or a squirrel with its four inch darts. FB

My dad built his as well as his darts, and has taken more squirrels than I think I have time to count to, as well as burying a dart to the cone in a hog's neck. Then he ran like hell.
I'd like to get into it, all his equipment is sitting in the garage. He hasn't used it over a decade. I'd have to check for spiders. lmao.
