Valiant Armoury has changed owners. I have not heard too many impressive things with the older owners, which this seems to be a part of. Take it for what it is worth.

I was looking at another just like this, called the Avenger. According to other sites, the blades are actually stainless. I couldn't tell you for certain.

wow i cant belive i messed this thread. I've handled this axe before, i liked the look of it too, bet the head was loose and only held on by a couple of pins through the shaft. I wasnt impressed and ended up buying Hanwie's Hero axe (which I broke the shaft on, but replaced with a hickory sledge hammer handle). I wouldnt recommend buying this if you're planning on hitting anything with it. As I said , hte head is only held on with a few pins through the shaft which can crack around it,and because if the spike, you cant put a wedge in the end. Sorry im so late at responding to this....hope it helps

like I said, the origional handle broke but for $15 i got a longer hickory handle for it. I custom carved it and re-did the decorative studded grip. I think it looks better now and ive chopped firewood with it and had no problems. It cuts very well as it comes from factory with mirror polished edges. the origional handle was a shorter one (meant to be wielded with one hand) now its definitely a 2 hander .

i've got the other axe but got it from somewhere other than Kultofathena. Heres a pic. i'ts a nice weight and the hard sagad wood handle feels solid enough, no rattle at the head as its filled with a dense foam to seal it completely to the shaft. it comes semi-sharp and it is infact carbon steel. the spikes on the end dont seem to be "solid" as advertised though, rather hollow and stuck on the ends, but securely enough at least. this was going to be next on my list after my arms of valour irish hand and a half comes.... been waiting since last october for it!!! grrr

I was looking at another just like this, called the Avenger. According to other sites, the blades are actually stainless. I couldn't tell you for certain. Both the Avenger and Nemesis are forged high carbon steel. However Valiant Armoury does not specify which grade of carbon steel it is. They do come sharp and ready for action. Hope this helps and sorry for the delay.
