Fallen: The background check for us is only a phone call too but sadly the majority of people who work at the sporting good stores I go to are rather idiotic when it comes to making the call so they always manage to need things repeated or need to re-enter something etc. Same goes for the handgun but our state requires the wait period. Oh well... At least I'm not living in CA or NJ... or a few other states. Better yet at least I'm not living in other countries where the gun laws are even worse.
Talon: That's definitely a nice looking shotgun and pretty distinguished too. I have to say that in my short life of 35 yrs I've been shooting for almost 30 of it and I've NEVER seen a martini action shotgun. Everything I've seen was break action, pump, semi-auto and even a few bolt actions but never seen a martini action shotgun. If I showed up to the club to shoot clays with that I'd definitely get some looks! Mostly the guys would be going "Wtf is that? Where the hell did you get it?" Aside from that 80 BPS is cheap as hell! Equals out to be around $200 USD I think and that's cheap for a quality shotgun. Hell you'd expect to shell out at least $300 USD for a cheap pump shotgun.

Must you remind us how our dollar is going in the toilet? I have to say that I've never seen a martini shotgun either. I did get a chance to see a rolling block shotgun the other day. The guy paid $100 for it at a flea market.

Great choices. And that Greener Martini is SWEEEEET!!!!
I have an English friend who lives here now, who has one almost exactly like it. I love shooting it, though it took me quite a bit of use to really familiarize myself with the safety. It works backwards from what we over here would expect. But once you get the drill down correctly, it works great.

Say, are lever action shotguns legal here too then? or is it just double barrel, single shot and martini?

lever actions are legal (as far as i remember) but only if its a 3 shot, the magazine tubes crimped so only 3 will load, mind thats on a shotgun licence,an fac may be different, also it cant have a removeable magazine or it comes under an fac aswell

You got yourself a great shotgun with the Browning Citori, wish I could afford one. It will give you many years of service. Does it have screw in chokes.

thanks fallen im very pleased with it,yeah it comes with quarter ,full and skeet chokes ,i havent tried changing them yet as i seemed to do ok with the chokes that are already in (im still very new to this clay pigeon thing) the gun seems to fit me very well though,it shoulders nice and the action is silky smooth, i tried a couple of beretta's but the browning seemed to fit me better (and looks nicer to me)
