yea, its a wall hanger. I admit it. Stamped blade, screwed on end pieces. But it makes me happy. Found in an antique shop in mexico. Solid metal handle. Ima take picks of it dis-assembled. i wanted to share ti anyways, as it is obviously an older reproduction. ![](http://a150.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/105/l_8dad2dd5b56ef52c19e3733b621d375d.jpg) ![](http://a620.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/98/l_63c2e3da12c6767b41add582a47974cb.jpg)

Uh, what in your mind makes it "Persian"? Looks like bad celtic knotwork from the photo, though it could just be blurry.

I would assume that it was marketed as such. At least he admitted that it was a wall hanger. Ahem. Welcome to the forum cpnhowdie. (is there a short form for that?) It does look quite worn but that isn't necessarily an indication of age. It could just have been uncared for. And it definitely isn't Persian. If you want a Middle Eastern axe, (sort of, good enough for the price range) you should look at this. It's functional as well. www.kultofathena.com/product~item~600610~name~Saracen+War+Axe.htm

I think it is a great item to bring home to remember your trip. It looks to me like an old replica. It has a nice age pattern going on and if it makes you happy then Its worth owning. I have to admit to feelings of natstalgia for those toledo specials that we would buy as kids and wouldn't mind one of the daggers just as a memento of the excitement we had getting our hands on them.

Agreed, if it makes you happy. Just wondering about your conclusions. Thanks for the linkage.

Looks Persian-enough to a Persian! Congrats on the blade, a good polish and it'll be a grand presentation piece
