I'm in a bit of a pickle choosing the newest sword what I hope will become a large collection. I have a sword in mind but i cannot find it for a reasonable price. The specs I would prefer to find in the sword are as follows. -Octagonal Pommel with the slanting sides -One handed -About 32 inch blade or bigger(most of the ones i found that were close were about 27 -Historically accurate to the crusades but without crosses preferably -Around 400 dollars -Carbon steel After allot of searching I found a sword on Albion armorers that is basically what I would like to get but unfortunately I am a college student and can't afford such a wonderful sword.Anyway If you can help I will greatly appreciate it. You could always get a Valiant Armory Signature Line Crusader and have Sonny Suttles of VA make a custom pommel for you. It'd be somewhat over your budget, but it's the closest I can think of that matches your specs the best. There's also an ATrim from Tried & True Armory, but Gus uses strictly wheel pommels, so, again, there'd be the need for a custom pommel.

Yeah I think ill probably just have to end up getting a custom pommel, although I would rather not, just because I just don't like the way the circle ones look. Both great suggestions thank you.

I don't know of any swords like what you want that are within your budget, so you'll probably have to go custom. Darksword Armory does take custom orders, so you could get a pommel similar to the one on the Third Crusade sword but choose a different blade. If you can find a blade and guard that you like from some of their other stock swords it probably wouldn't be over your budget. Drop them an email for a quote. Other than that, the custom sword shoppe is a good way to go as well. You might also be able to get a full custom from some of the less expensive makers for around (maybe a little over) $400. You might try Baltimore Knife and Sword. Their prices are generally pretty good.
Hope that helps, Alan
