In lieu of posting some sort of introduction in the Beginners Forum, I felt here's a sort of introduction as well .. to my interests in the blade, with humble beginnings rooted in the socio-colutural creations of Japanese Style Swords ... The Yukiyasu ... a blade I received in shirasaya which I sent to my now deceased comrade-in-steel, Henry Ahmu to purge of imperfections and build for me a giant of a blade ... A closer look at the furniture, self-designed and perfected by Henry Ahmu ... Of course, sooner or later we ALL find Albion Swords, and of the oh-so-many I've owned, only The Baronremains in my collection. It is simply, in my mind, the perfect broadsword ... I think sooner or later our tastes in the blade evolves, from one type of sword to another, from less expensive production-level swords to custom-made. My journey lead me to realize one of my quests for Polish-style War Saber, The Black Saber custom-made by Paolo Abrera, with generous help from a Gentlemen now long- gone from sword-forums, Antonio CeJunior ... At virtually the same moment Paolo and AC made me aware of this sword, I had commissioned another Polish- style War Saber by the very talented craftsmen at OllinSword Design ... My fascination with the curved saber, and types there-in lead me to acquire a piece made by John Lundemo of Odinblades, a Turkish-style Shamshir ... And from there, well, John Lundemo of Odinblades made The Mehmet ...

The Mehmet is a seriously awesome piece of steel. I've always loved the Baron as well.
Excellent collection!

Thanks, Aaron. All compliments are assuredly earned and deserved by John Lundemo, though. There were elements of the hilt and furniture that I had no imagination for, which he took to another level that certainly pleases the eye ... And yet one the swords I am particularly proud of is the OlliN Hussar Saber ... The gentlemen there begin with a full-scale drawing. Having a bit of talent there myself I was able to " patch in " changes using their measurements, as well as some computer generated drawings done by none-other than Antonio Cejunior ... This is AC's fine work : This the OllinSword design ( you can see my patchwork round the L-hilt ) : The project itself was inspired by an historical drawing from an impossible-to-find book on Polish War Sabers done by Wojciech Zablocki ... I think the result speaks for itself ...

Lovely swords. Thanx for sharing. And Welcome.
Fence sitting on the Ollin's though. Something antiseptic looking about their products. But well engineered.

Welcome and super nice collection. I have the Duke but like the Baron as well. Might end up with The Late 13th Century Great Sword (MK II) instead. I have a couple customs coming from John Lundemo and am pumped up to see them in final form.
