Hello All!
Here is my small but growing collection. I fear my checking account will suffer hits as I really want to order more custom pieces for my collection. However, here are the few production pieces I have. Starting from top to bottom they are: An old Windlass, the name escapes me, it was something like Irish Bastard Sword I think, but I could be way off. It was my first non-wallhanger sword so it holds a special place in my heart. It has been through a whole lot of hell suffering my "I work for a blacksmith phase so that makes me a master sword smith. (I worked for 6 years in highschool for a Blacksmith who focused primarily on artistic type things). I hacked off the ugly as sin ice cream scoops that it originally had and did unmentionable things to the pommel. However, it's still in one piece and doesn't suffer from any of the usual whip that Windlass blades usually have.
The second piece needs no introduction its the VA Castille. I love the VA's for the simple fact that it puts the whole package together. While I find the blade to be a touch springy when handled (granted I'm no sword master) I really love the look and feel of the blade.
Third blade also needs no introduction its the Hanwei Tac-wak. This was purely a guilty pleasure on my part, I had some loose cash after a holiday and the go ahead to get a blade from the wife. I find myself sucked into the zombiphile craze now and again (thank you Walking Dead) and couldn't resist. It's not a bad piece but the handle is just way to long for the blade length. It just doesn't feel right holding it with one hand and with two you just feel like you don't have enough blade presence. That being said it is a fun piece to have.
The dagger with the antler handle is actually one I made while working for the previously mentioned smith. It turned out okay and has held up over the past 8 years or so. The blade itself needs a lot of edgework but I liked the kind of unfinished look and just kept it that way. Gave it a wicked little point and enjoy having something of my own creation displayed. The second pic has a close up of it.
The last dagger is something I got a LONG time ago. While not really a functional piece I always thought this Hibben was a lot of fun. Not to much else to say here.
As I said in a previous post an Odin will join these pieces eventually (order has been placed) so I can't wait to show of the real pride of my collection once I get it.
Thanks for reading!
