Just a quick question... i just got my first live blade, a cheness shura, and i was wondering what the waxy substance is in the saya? it gets all over the blade, and it's annoying to have to clean it off every time i take it out...

You will find it is lithium grease used to protect the blade during storage and transport, best to wipe it all off the blade with absorbent cloth after which i used a piece of stiff wire with a piece of cotton lint attatched very securely to the end to remove the excess from inside the saya and after that it soon dissapears
