Hi everybody. I'm new I guess. I've been lurking for a while, so I thought I should join in on the forum fun . I've loved swords since I was a wee lad, and through the interwebs I've learned a lot, especially from places like here and myArmoury The first sword I got was a Hanwei Godfred for my birthday, maybe three or four years ago. Since then I haven't gotten very many other swords, since I'm kind of young(I'm turning 16 soon), and swords can get expensive. The good thing is I've just recently joined the SCA, and I learned that as long as I go to demos and teach people about swords they are a write off for taxes, so I get free swords  So I'm probably going to be getting more soon. I like Euro swords the most, and I'd love to own an Albion someday. I haven't done much backyard cutting, but I probably will in the future. My uncle owns a meat packaging company, so maybe I'll be able to get some pigs to test cut on  I wanted to know, what would be good swords to demonstrate Oakeshott's typology to people that are fairly inexpensive but aren't SLOs and I can use them for backyard cutting? I was thinking Hanwei Tinkers, but maybe you all have better ideas. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi to everyone. I hope to get many fancy new shinies that I can share with you all.

hi njarf welcome to the forum the ht line of euro's would fit what you're looking for very well,ie functional a good price and definately suited for cutting,as always though you may need to refine the edge depending on which ht sword's you may get

Good to see you, gl;ad to know you. The Hanwei Tinkers would be a good low cast solution for showing the typology and the parts of a sword. And good on you for wanting to spread the word! Karma inbound.
