Nunchaku are illegal in Australia, but I am still instructed on them. Too little control over the weapon - I can't stand them.

well that depends on how you use them my take on nunchuks is mainly freestyle tricks that don't involve striking moves so you hold them high up to the chain and with the right amount of proper techniques it becomes a insane weapon with a lot of control but on the flip side one mistake and that control could turn against you

True, but they are still lacking in control.

Just by the fact that they can go out of control so easily, or is it because you have trouble controlling them?

Nunchaku are great fun. I've had the same pair for more years than I care to remember, There was a sort of mini craze for them amongst the lads where I used to live in the early eighties, we all had home made nunchaku of various quality which we used to carry everywhere. Just above my hairline is a small scar over a nice dent in my head that wasn't self inflicted, I bled like a stuck pig. Young lads+ bravado+ weapons. . Happy days.

and if you thought chucks are hard to handle check this out 3 section staff and things like rope darts or meteor heads those are the real hard weapons to control

I guess many many hours of practice (and probably some pain) in learning to control that. Also, that guy is doing those front flip things without his hands.

yea but you know front flips without hands aren't the hard part just imagine you got a weapon in your hands and your gonne jump towards it and have to make sure you don't hit it

Chucks are the only weapon I've used in an actual fight. Let me tell you, they end a hostile situation quickly!

Are they light weight (foamies) or hardwood? Ive got some coconut wood ones which are real heavy, and hurt bad.

My favourites were always octagonal 14", corded, I think the wood was red oak.

I prefer the Rattan and chain myself. They are light and quick, and if you hit yourself over the head you won't die, just cuss a up a storm while the stinging sensation takes over your body.
Plus if you ever had to actually use them in defense, you won't kill your opponent. You'll just watch in amusement as he cusses up a storm as the stinging sensation takes over his body.

the ones in the vid are D.I.Y. foamies i removed the plastic tube and put an iron one in with a atachment built in so you can put some led bars in it to increase the weight i never take wooden or metal ones outside of my house because they're illigal but with this ones to cops rather see it as toy's lucky me

Hmm considering they are foam i am less impressed but still fairly impressive nontheless, i really enjoy three sectional staffs and using the rope dart. I like to freestyle twirl lots of things it teaches your body how to move.

don't underestemate the foamies as each stick if loaded with the led bars weights about 1 kilogram and without the led you still knock someone out the foam is just there so i don't get juristic problems when using them outside with the foam over the metal they appear to be toy's but in fact are lethal non the less the power of deception:P ( the ones in the vid are loaded )
