Hi was just wondering if Yaki-ire can be performed on a already tempered edge if say you wanted to create a hamon ona cheap blade or is there a way to create a fake hamon on a blade?

if you want to produce a fake hamon by acid etch you could do the same thing as DH blades and make the ''clay tempering'' with some candle wax instead of clay and acid etchant (vinegar and stuff) it works well i saw someone do that on a hanwei raptor  |
