I agree, that Roven is a sweet looking sword. Very much worth the money.

here's my newest addition, thanks to william swiger. the hanwei mercenary being my first cas hanwei sword, I must say they're not too bad. the ricasso doesn't stand out to me as much as I thought it would. also the scabbard isn't bad either. I like it better than my tinker bastard scabbard. Attachments:

Yee Haw man, you can beat that Hanwei piece like a red headed mule and not worry a whit about it. If it gets loose, just inject a load of epoxy into the grip core cavity and repeen it.
They're actually pretty tough swords, I dinged the snot out of the edge of an old Agincourt model, layed the belt grinder to it, and went back to pruning the Mulberry tree. It actually took a few times practicing a Mordhau on a railroad tie before the pommel gave up the ghost.

yea Iwas surprised by how thick the blade is. I'm liking the s guard more and more as I look at it. guess like you, I'm now part of the s guard fan club.

Sure, it is a 1045 sword that a friend ordered for me. He owns a shop outside Cascade, ID a town I lived in when I bought it. His shop was kinda 1/2 fleamarket 1/2 travel stop. Anyway he always had a few wallhangers around the shop and one day he asked me some questions about functional katana. I showed him my Practical Katana which I had at the time and he got interested and started looking around the web. He ordered his with a Shogun motif from a vendor on Ebay. Then after my Practical fell apart I asked him to order me one. Pretty nice sword for the money, I think I payed around $90.00 for it.
Sword was the typical shinoZ with a TH blade, Cotton Ito with black panels, cast fittings and a cheap tsuka. Don't have it anymore as I gifted it to my brother after I purchased my Musashi. He doesn't use it but keeps it hung on his gun rack. Alright sword for what I payed for it back in 2004 when most swords were inflated like they are today.
