well i recieved my eagerly awaited xll.1 heavy today so i thought i'd post my thought's on it,first though i have to say a BIG
thank you to tom and hiroshi,i dithered a lot over this purchase,i couldn't decide between the xll.1 and the 1326,tom was very patient with my ever changing mind,i couldn't decide though so i've bought both
the sword was posted on the 11/5 and arrived today, the fastest i have ever had a sword delivered from the states so thank's hiroshi for a very speedy delivery
the sword arrived in well ,a big cardboard envelope ,well secured and damage free, exellent
the pommel did come with quite a lot of surface rust (see pics) and while it took about 1 minute with wire wool to remove,i would like to see some grease applied before shipping,it's not a big deal to me as im going to be blueing the fitting's anyway,
the fitting's are perfect, the pommel centres itself perfectly to the tang, the cross is such a nice tight fit that it will take a couple of taps with a rawhide hammer to remove (a very well machined fit, superb) the grip fit's my hand well,a good wrap, nothing to complain about there
the blade well the best thing's come in 3's in this case 3 fuller's with the black forged look from heat treat still there and looking amazing
one side of the blade has the fuller's perfectly even, the other side has 1 fuller maybe 2mm short,i like this as it gives the sword more of a hand made look, actually much better than i would expect from a munition grade sword
the blade is perfectly straight, the edge grind is top notch, a couple of strokes with a steel has brought the edge's up almost razor sharp (the sharpest sword iv'e ever bought in fact)
speaking of the blade,it's a beast pure and simple, perfectly designed for shearing cut's,there's no finesse to this bad boy,it has a lot of blade prescence, and would be a truly devastating cutter (my perfect blade style)
it's also my first 1 hander,so im getting used to it atm, this is the heavy version of the xll.1 (i think it's 8 ounces heavier than the standard) the blade has a nice even satin grey polish
cob four inches from the cross
cop nineteen and a half inches ,i dont have reliable scales for the weight
all in all i think im in love
this is my first review so apologie's if its a bit of a hash job  ,to tom and hiroshi thank's guy's,and thanks to greg for convincing me that i needed this sword you were right bud
