As always I am trying to keep up on where the Arms market is at the moment and would like some help.
There are two parts to this survey.
1. Answer the topic poll.
2. Post what pieces you are planning on purchasing in the next 6 months (type, rough price). The piece doesn't need to be from me as many Artisans will read this thread. Help us make the pieces you want.
Thanks and good luck!
**EDIT: to conform to forum rules**

I don't know what I am buying yet, could be antique, could be something custom, or could just a be a production piece or two I am interested in. Right now I am saving for my wedding, but that will be October 15, and if there is any extra money I get a sword.

Isn't this post against forum rules? Read there op, the true purpose of this thread its to sell product not research. Unless this vendor has some sort of immunity from the rules this is unacceptable. If I wrong please let a mod tell me so.

Only because of where it's located:
If a mod could just move this thread over to the manufacturers & vendors forum all will be right with the world. In the meantime I'm currently working with Mad Dwarf Workshop on a custom, and MAY be picking up an SBG custom katana in the near future depending on finances.
From casual observation I'd say the most recent trend is custom pieces or production pieces with personalized touches.
Thank you for your generous offer and good luck!

Wrong only in that you are a bit overzealous in prtecting the forum rules... the mods job. I'm not trying to be a jerk... really Is this against the rules? Technically, yes. However I am prone to give MUCH more leeway to independent artisans and craftsmen than to mass-producers and resellers. Mr. Potter, in a previous post you stated that you emailed admin about a M&V account. Since that time other M&V's have been signed up. While I am sypathetic to you and other craftspeople, the time has come to inquire about a M&V account again. May I suggest starting here memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=2and here memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=54Good Luck... and while I am going to continue to allow this post , please have a M&V account sorted before making further , similar posts. Thanks, Marc

I will probably buy one, or all during the next 6 months:
A rapier, I haven't got any so believe I will start with a Hanwei just to get a feel for them.
A V/A Castille or similar.
A type XVIIIe.

i'll most likely get one sword the next six months, hopefully two.
medieval quillion dagger " short and light riding sword <26" blade arming sword, heavier and stouter than a VA 303 longsword cutlass saber
price range is around 250-400$ a piece.

I'm on the fence, if I get something it'll probably be a nice rapier. Trouble with my particular niche is there aren't a lot of options in between decent but basic $150 Hanweis and $1000+ semicustom jobs.

Bogus, you can always check out Darkwood Armory. They have some nice works in the middle of that range.

They do, and I've considered that route, but it appears they don't make their own blades (or at least not sharp ones) so going wtih DWA would pretty much force a fencing rapier. Which isn't necessarily bad but I do like to keep my options open.

Actually, I was looking at your left handed Hatchet Point Cutlass. But then I saw your Cutlass with the 25" blade and like that one much better, but the 1/16" thinkness makes me secound guess my purchase.

Well, I have managed to get my wife looking at Cutlasses (and so the fever begins) so I will be buying her a reliable, (blunt) cutlass, for her birthday. In the meantime, I would like to get something from A&A, however, I'm more of a Chinese swords guy and there are certain issues with the jian that is made at A&A.
Of course, if I was going to get a Rapier, A&A would be the first place I look.

I should probably save up for that custom blade I want. Still, I how I long for a VA Warder.
