this post was very different before, but since i've improved my drawing quite a bit recently, i decided to only upload the newer and better designs. 1:a cutlass, i wanted to make one so i did 2: the waltschwert (german for wood sword), this is the design i'm most proud of, and the one that said to me, you are done with paint, go look at mok tutorial. 3: the royal sword, a sword fit for a fantasy king. 4: the final finished version of my fantasy odachi, the sword i would like the most to be made. 5: two different forms of rapiers, to try out some blade types., and yes i had just watched the princess bride , love that movie. 6:my version of a gross messer, it has sidering, those are only hard to see. 7: the high cat sword, the sword i designed for a fantasy race of mine, and the sword i love the most. it is a real heavy two handed sword, only then short, to be still manouvrable in a forest, and ofcourse very fantasy. its blade shape is a real pain to work out, sort of a combination, of a khopesh and a dao, so my two favorite swords types united. 8: fantasy chinese jian. 9: the finger ring sword, an fantasy high gothic longsword, i also very proud of. 10: the high cat sword again, only then worked out with inkscape, the third inckscape sword i ever made, and it turned out pretty good, it only seems impossible to shade the blade :? 11: a kukri fighter

wooo, more swords, i started working with inkscape, wheni decided paint, didn't offer enough for me, so i now spent my free hours with the addictive inkscapeprogram. and here are the sword i have. 1: the longsword, remember, that finger ring sword i did in paint, here it is rendered in inkscape. it was the second sword i did in inkscape, the first was the one from mok's tuturial. 2: an hollow ground leafblade, designed to be a superb stabbing sword. 3: my elven sword design, partially based on legolas fighting knives, but even more on the flashy movie elf kind of martial arts, of moving really fast and agile, a short fast cut'n thruster, with a bit of elvish flair. 4: the piece the recistance, my schiavona, i just finished, the only problem is that if i use too much of inkscape's special effects, my computer crashes, so the basket parts aren't all finished the same way.

ahh, here is the waltschwert again, i did it in paint, and i really liked it, so i decided to spent a few hours on inkscape to render it. i'm really proud how it turned out, it became my favorite sword again. so now a bit of background story. waltschwert is german for wood-sword, so when i decided to do a 15 century german ranger sword, i decided to call it such. it's hilt is blackened steel, with silver inlay, the blade fullered for about the half, and inscribed with the words: Blut in seinen Augen, ein Schrei hallt durch die Bäume, sondern nur die Wölfe hören, wich means something like, blood in his eyes, a crie echoes through the trees, but only the wolves will hear. lower part, of the grip is wire wrapped, other part, wrapped in forest green leather, with a few risers, wich im not totally happy with. maybe i'm going to make a back story for this, when i have the time.

great work and your inkscape skills are coming along well! My computer can't handle it at all- it slows down to a crawl and eventually freezes- sucks! I am working from my old laptop and really should get around to cleaning up the newer laptop my wife used to use...
I like the hand drawn swords as well. I have a soft spot for hand drawn work as it's my favourite way to create swords. Pencil to paper just feels right to me.
Karma on the work!
