The previously unnoticed uneven grind of my O katana is finally getting to me and its creating a very bad habit in my tecnique since I compensate for it when cutting. So, I'm thinking of using a binsui stone and grinding it to symmetry. The blade starts out fine, but by the time it reaches the monouchi, the edge is 3/4 of the way to the shinogi (when centered at the hamachi) The thing is, I'm afraid that grinding the blade into propper shape is going to "eat" right through the hamon. Any ideas on how to tackle this? I'm thinking taking a bit from the hamachi on the right side so I don't have to take as much from the left side of the monouchi... I'll need to reshape the shinogi though. There goes my habaki fit... Here is drawing: The blue line on the side view is what would happen at the monouchi if I just ground away the left side. Help...?

Thanks Ricky. I'm going to think about this some more. I wish I had someone in the EU that could fix this for cheap...
